Social Ministry Committee Report

Several attended the potluck held at Crystal Lake with chicken furnished by the church and wonderful food provided by those who attended. Games were played and all had a great time.

A delicious assortment of pies was provided by the ladies for the Thanksgiving Eve service.

Social Ministry has taken on a new adventure for our community, this being the St. Paul Pantry. The east storage area in the basement was converted by adding shelving put in place by Lyle Petersen. This project has had the backing of the whole community. Over 500 items were collected from the congregations and community with a matching grant from Thrivent to be put towards this project. A couple people applied for grants from Thrivent for $250 each and those have been received. The Treasure Trove gave a large donation plus grocery store vouchers to Thramers for perishable items. Thramers has provided a cart for grocery donations. The children at school had a food drive and provided St. Paul Pantry with half of their proceeds, which amounted to around 800 items. Let’s get the word out there that this is available to those around Blue Hill.

Fellowship has been well attended and the coffee, juice and snacks have all been amazing.

Set-up and clean-up at our social events has been amazing from those who attend.

The church was decorated by several people to start the Advent season. Those were taken down after the New Year. Soup was provided by Jana after all as decorated. Thank you to all who helped. With many hands, it all goes much faster.

Thank you to everyone who has helped in one way or another. Your time is greatly appreciated.
